Editorial Policy

How Dust2pedia collects prices, ranks marketplaces, verifies promo codes and reviews case opening sites — and how we get paid.

Independence

Dust2pedia is an independent CS2 wiki. We are not affiliated with Valve, Counter-Strike, Steam, Buff163, CSFloat, Skinport, DMarket or any case-opening operator. Rankings, trust scores and “best” lists are editorial judgments, not paid placements.

Prices

Listed skin and case prices come from our catalog (Steam Market, Buff163, CSFloat, Skinport and DMarket snapshots where available). A page may show Factory New through Battle-Scarred fields. If a wear has no listing, we show a dash — we do not invent a price.

Price history charts mix observed snapshots with estimated fill so the graph is not empty on day one. Observed points are labeled when they exist. Do not treat the estimated segment as a guaranteed historical print.

Marketplace trust scores

Trust scores (0–10) weigh public reputation, fee transparency, withdrawal options, KYC friction and how long the site has operated. Fees on each marketplace review should match the operator’s published schedule; if they drift, the review is wrong and we correct it.

Promo codes

Codes on /promo-codes are checked against partner dashboards and public landing pages. A code can expire without notice. We do not list codes we cannot redeem or that require a hidden deposit we did not disclose.

Case opening reviews

Case-opening sites are gambling products. Reviews cover KYC, withdrawals, advertised odds and whether a promo is real. Expected value of a case on Dust2pedia uses catalog prices × official rarity odds — not a site’s “daily return” marketing.

Affiliate disclosure

Some outbound “Buy” or “Open” buttons are affiliate links. If you click and later buy or deposit, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That never changes the order of a comparison table or a trust score.

Corrections

If a sensitivity, fee, code or price is wrong, use the contact paths in the footer. Material errors are corrected on the page; we do not silently rewrite history on rankings without a note.
